Beware of Banshees is een festival voor ruige muziek dat gendernormen aan diggelen slaat. Deze vijfde editie hebben we weer volle dag lawaai op 2 podia, diversiteit-inspirerende workshops, een tattooshop en nog veel meer. Voor iedereen die gelooft in Beware of Banshees — de échte banshees — zijn de early birds nu te koop!

Eerdere edities hebben onder andere BOMBSTRAP, C’est Qui, PEUK, Ontaard, Rats and Daggers, Library Card en gespeeld. De volgende editie wordt weer keihard en ziek goed.

Wij zijn een loud music festival en wij geloven dat loudnes de kracht heeft om te ontregelen. Om de status quo te doorbreken en ruimte in te nemen.
Wij stellen de line-ups ter discussie die voornamelijk mannen tonen in een prachtige, diverse wereld die zoveel meer te bieden heeft.
We bewijzen dit door keiharde en empowerende acts te programmeren met een focus op genderdiversiteit, omdat het podium — en de mensen naar wie we opkijken — de volledige diversiteit van onze samenleving zouden moeten weerspiegelen.
Onze missie is om stemmen die vaak niet gehoord worden in de luide muziekscène welkom te laten voelen en anderen te inspireren om hun pad te volgen, door tools en betekenisvolle interacties te bieden voor zowel crew als bezoekers.
We willen diversiteit uitnodigen en de regels herschrijven — niet alleen in muziek, maar ook in andere mannelijk gedomineerde subculturen zoals skateboarden en tattoo-cultuur.
We streven naar duurzame verandering binnen deze scenes en bouwen samen aan een meer inclusieve en diverse wereld.

For the fifth edition of Beware of Banshees we are coming back to the beautiful cultural safehaven de Nijverheid in Utrecht with a full day of loud AF on 2 stages, diversity inspiring workshops, a tattoo parlor and much more. We are a loud music festival and we believe loudness has the power to disrupt. To shatter the status quo and to take up space. We question the lineup that predominantly showcases men in a beautifully diverse world that has so much more to offer. We prove this by showcasing sick and empowering acts with a focus on gender diversity, because the stage and the people we look up to should reflect the full spectrum of our society.
Our mission is to make voices that often go unheard in loud music feel welcome and to inspire others to follow their path by offering tools and meaningful interactions for both crew and visitors. To invite diversity and rewrite the rules in both loud music and other single gender dominated subcultures like skateboarding and tattoo culture. To inspire durable change in these scenes and build towards a more inclusive and diverse world.
