Een muzikaal experiment waar culturen samenkomen:
De Koerdische zangeres en percussionist Zilan Hasret Yıldız en de Nederlandse saxofonist Loek van den Berg keren terug op het podium na hun eerste samenwerking bij Culture Shock eerder dit jaar. Het daaropvolgende duo is kersvers en zal deze Culture Shock voor het eerst samen het podium betreden. Dit duo bestaat uit de Iraanse percussionist Pouriya Jaberi en de Argentijnse violist en saxofonist Gustavo Cabrera.
Culture Shock?
Culture Shock is een platform voor nieuwe interculturele muzikale samenwerkingen, mogelijk gemaakt door De Voorkamer. Het creëert artistieke en sociale ervaringen waarin muzikanten met verschillende culturele achtergronden worden uitgenodigd om voor het eerst samen een creatief proces aan te gaan en het resultaat vervolgens op het podium te presenteren. Elke maand debuteert één nieuw duo, dat voor het eerst samen het podium bestijgt. In de zomer strijkt Culture Shock altijd voor een paar edities neer bij De Nijverheid en wordt zo de kas telkens weer gevuld met muziek en klanken uit de meest uiteenlopende windstreken.

Kurdish singer and percussionist Zilan Hasret Yıldız and Dutch saxophonist Loek van den Berg are returning on stage after their first collaboration at Culture Shock earlier this year. Later, the fresh duo of the month, formed of Iranian percussionist Pouriya Jaberi and Argentinian violinist and saxophonist Gustavo Cabrera will take the stage!

Culture Shock is a platform for new cross-cultural music collaborations, powered by De Voorkamer. It facilitates artistic and social experiences where musicians from different cultural backgrounds are invited for a process to create together for the first time and bring the outcome on stage. Every month, a fresh duo debuts their live performance. Every year in summer, Culture Shock organises a few editions here at De Nijverheid, once again filling the greenhouse with music and sounds from the most diverse corners of the world.
